Used on mostly Indian black teas, the letters describe the leaf size and visual qualities of the processed leaves. It has little to do with the tastes or flavor profile of the tea. In general, the higher quality leaf will most likely give you full flavor tea.

One of the most well-known black tea varieties, Assam comes from an ancient word in the Ahom language, asama, which means “peerless or without comparison.” The first sip of this delightful tea will enchant you with a strong, spice undertone that’s delightful all on its own. From the Mokalbari classic tea gardens where fine teas have been produced for almost 100 years.
A classic and fan-favorite black tea, this Assam is gathered as part of the second plucking / harvest from some of the top plantations in the harvesting region.
A lovely and naturally caffeinated loose leaf tea, it makes a perfect morning cup or a contemplative sipping tea for later in the afternoon or evening. Popular additives are cream, lemon, and sweeteners.
To prepare this tea to perfection, simply brew 1 level tsp per serving in a favorite steeper pot or mug (we recommend our glass Tea for One) for a short 4-5 minutes in freshly boiled (203-212 degrees F) water.
Single Garden Indian black tea from the historical Mokalbari Tea Gardens in Assam, India.
